James and Aero are addressing a huge and important problem. Covid-19 has demonstrated that infectious disease pandemics are a real danger. People are more aware of hygiene than ever before. And yet we still face major infection risks from the controls we touch in public areas. Aero's holographic interfaces eliminate the need for physical contact, while not requiring users to change their behavior in any significant way. James is a savvy innovator who has built an impressive prototype and has both the technical skills and hustle that will allow him to succeed!
I recently had the pleasure of meeting James Malin and using his prototype holographic touch panel. It struck me that this concept could add value in multiple applications, including various healthcare settings where physical contact with control panels can be a nuisance or limitation -- both inside and outside of sterile fields. James is actively working to improve his prototype and I am eager to see where this technology will go in the near future.
